    First Program Launches in Russia

Our first Executive Education program is underway. Learn more and view photos and video from first seminar.

This is an exciting time for Duke University's Fuqua School of Business as we strengthen our relationship and bond with Russia and the surrounding region. As Fuqua develops into the first globally distributed business school in the world, its relationship with Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) is critical, but it is not new. Fuqua shares a rich history with Russia and the surrounding countries dating back to 1989.

After the fall of Communism and perestroika in the former Soviet Union, the late J.B. Fuqua — after whom the school is named — underwrote a program to train Russian business managers on the principles of management in a free market economy. In 1989, as Russia's government verged on bankruptcy, J.B. Fuqua personally provided $4 million for the Russian Managers Program. With help from former Fuqua Dean Thomas Keller, Fuqua's first Russian initiative was born, and over seven years, more than 400 men and women completed the Russian Managers Program .

Now we've taken the next step in our relationship by signing a partnership agreement with the Graduate School of Management (GSOM) at St. Petersburg State University. We will work together on student and faculty exchanges, and in conjunction with GSOM, Fuqua will offer non-degree executive education programs for Russian companies and business managers.

We hope to continue to broaden our partnerships and involvement in Russia and the CIS, and we hope you will connect with us through one of links on this page or e-mail me directly. We are always looking for ways to actively engage with our prospective students and alumni in the Russian region. If you are a Fuqua graduate, I would love to hear from you.

    Warm regards,

    Dan Nagy
